Are your products free from harmful ingredients?

GEZEITEN formulas exclude unnecessary fragrances, allergens and irritants, guided by a continuously updated ingredient blacklist that reflects the latest scientific understanding of skin health and sensitivity.

STABILISATION SYSTEMS Instead of conventional synthetic preservatives, we use modern, naturally derived alternatives. Phenoxyethanol has been completely removed from all GEZEITEN products. For us, true refinement means choosing systems that support skin health, prevention and responsibilit, throughout every stage of the product lifecycle.

FRAGRANCE & ALLERGENS Fragrance blends, even “natural” ones, almost always require alcohol as a carrier. While effective for dispersion, alcohol can dry out or irritate the skin. Combined with the allergenic potential of fragrance molecules, perfumes are among the most common triggers of sensitivity and barrier disruption.

This is why GEZEITEN formulas are entirely fragrance-free, keeping the focus where it belongs: on skin health, balance and long-term resilience.

Do you offer vegan options?

Yes. All GEZEITEN products are 100% vegan. We do not use any animal-derived ingredients in our formulas.

Are GEZEITEN products suitable for sensitive skin?

Yes. All GEZEITEN products are formulated with sensitivity in mind: microbiome-friendly, barrier-supportive and free from fragrance, phenoxyethanol and other common irritants. Our clean, minimalist ingredient philosophy makes GEZEITEN especially suitable for sensitive or reactive skin.

The NIGHT SERUM Stimulation & Rejuvenation contains a gentle, stabilised form of retinal (not retinol), which is generally well tolerated even by sensitive skin. If you are new to vitamin A, we recommend introducing it slowly - for example, using it 1–2 times per week and increasing as your skin becomes accustomed.

What is the best way to use GEZEITEN serums?

Is GEZEITEN cruelty free?

Yes. GEZEITEN is fully cruelty-free and complies with all EU regulations that strictly prohibit animal testing for cosmetic products, ingredients, and finished formulas. This means that neither GEZEITEN nor any of our suppliers or ingredient manufacturers conduct, commission, or permit animal testing at any stage of development or production.

Instead, we rely on modern, ethical and scientifically advanced testing methods - including skin cell cultures, 3D dermis models and skin explants. These technologies allow us to evaluate safety, tolerance and performance with exceptional precision while respecting both the skin and the environment.

Are GEZEITEN products non-comedogenic?

Yes. All GEZEITEN formulas are developed according to non-comedogenic criteria.

Our ingredient systems avoid heavy, pore-clogging oils or occlusives and instead use lightweight, skin-compatible lipids such as squalane, meadowfoam seed oil and modern esters that support hydration without blocking pores.

Many of our actives, including niacinamide, zinc PCA, retinal, senolytic plant extracts, marine biotechnology and microbiome-supportive hydrators, help refine pores, regulate impurities and maintain a balanced, clear and resilient complexion.

Can GEZEITEN products be used during pregnancy?

Yes, many GEZEITEN products are suitable for use during pregnancy.
Our formulas follow strict European safety standards and are created without many ingredients commonly avoided during this time.

All GEZEITEN day products are free from retinol and are considered pregnancy-safe.

For night care, the FACE CREAM NIGHT Liquid Skin contains Bakuchiol, a gentle, plant-based alternative to retinol that supports renewal without irritation and is generally well tolerated during pregnancy.

GEZEITEN does not use fragrance, essential oils, drying alcohols or other common irritant, fully aligned with our clean-beauty philosophy focused on purity, safety and science.

How long will my products last?

Our products are formulated to have a two-year shelf life when unopened and stored properly. Once opened, all of our skincare products have a recommended use-by date printed on the packaging, indicated by the "open can" icon. 9M stands for 9 months, 12M for 12 months, and 36M for 36 months. The quality of our products is only guaranteed within this period after opening.

What is the concentration of retinoids, vitamin C and other active ingredients?

At GEZEITEN, we do not focus on single-percentage claims because they say little about real efficacy or bioavailability.

A high percentage does not automatically mean a better result, it can simply be a marketing number.

What truly matters is how an active ingredient is:

  • stabilised
  • delivered into the skin
  • combined with supporting actives
  • absorbed and utilised (bioavailability)
  • working in synergy with the skin’s natural rhythm

This is why we formulate with complex, multi-layered systems, where potent actives reinforce each other for maximum effectiveness and skin compatibility.

Which products contain retinoids?

GEZEITEN does not use retinol. Instead, we use Retinal (Retinaldehyde), a next-generation form of vitamin A with higher efficacy and better skin compatibility.

Retinal is included in:

  • FACE CREAM Night Intensive Anti-Aging
  • SERUM Stimulation & Rejuvenation

Retinal works more efficiently because it requires fewer conversion steps to become active in the skin, delivering visible rejuvenation faster and with greater precision than traditional retinol. At the same time, our stabilised, microbiome-friendly Retinal system is designed to minimise irritation, making it suitable even for sensitive skin.

For customers who prefer a routine without vitamin A, we offer a gentle, plant-based alternative: Bakuchiol, used in our Liquid Skin Night Cream, supports renewal and firmness without the typical sensitivities associated with retinoids.

Do GEZEITEN products contain fragrance?

No. All GEZEITEN formulas are entirely fragrance-free.

We intentionally avoid perfumes - whether synthetic or natural - because fragrance molecules and their alcohol carriers are among the most common triggers of sensitivity, irritation and barrier disruption.

By removing fragrance altogether, we ensure that even sensitive or reactive skin can experience our products comfortably, with full focus on what matters: skin health, balance and long-term resilience.

What if I experience irritation?

GEZEITEN formulas are designed to be gentle, microbiome-friendly and suitable even for sensitive skin. Irritation is uncommon, and when it does occur, it is usually related to the introduction of active ingredients such as retinal or senolytic plant extracts, as the skin adapts to increased performance.

If you notice mild redness or sensitivity, simply reduce usage or take a short break to allow your skin to rebalance. This adjustment phase is normal and typically temporary.

All GEZEITEN products are developed and manufactured in Germany under strict European quality, safety and regulatory standards. Every formula passes through controlled, carefully monitored production steps to ensure purity, stability and performance.

Our active ingredients, especially our marine biotechnology, are sourced and developed with our scientific partners in Brittany, France, a region globally recognised for innovation in marine science.

All packaging is produced in Europe as well, ensuring responsible sourcing, traceability and full alignment with our sustainability and quality principles. Nothing is mass-produced; every component is intentionally selected and rigorously tested to meet the high standards that define GEZEITEN.

When will I see results?

Can I combine GEZEITEN with other skincare products?

GEZEITEN can be integrated into most routines - however, our serums are high-potency, multi-level formulations with up to 15 synergistic active ingredients. Because they already deliver comprehensive performance, we recommend not combining them with additional strong actives (such as acids, retinoids or intense exfoliants) from other brands.

Our philosophy is simple:
work with the skin and its natural intelligence - supporting, activating and balancing it according to its rhythm.
Overloading the skin with competing actives can disrupt this balance.

Can you send me samples?

Our samples are currently available as a gift with purchase and cannot be sold separately. With your first order, you also receive a special GWP, along with other promotions throughout the year.

If you didn’t receive a GWP, the promotion may have already ended or the offer may have been while supplies lasted. Our promotions run only within specific timeframes and limited quantities.

How do I apply my discount code?

To apply your discount code, simply enter it in your basket before checkout. Please make sure the code is typed exactly as received, without extra spaces or characters.

Discount codes are valid for online purchases only and cannot be combined with other promotions or special offers. You can check the validity or expiry date in the terms of the offer or in the email where you received the code.

What are your shipping methods an policies?

All orders are shipped with our trusted courier partner UPS. Every shipment is fully insured against theft and accidental damage until the moment it is received and signed for.

We process and dispatch orders Monday to Friday during our business hours. Once your order is accepted, it is prepared for shipment within 24 hours. Please note that we are closed on German public holidays.

Your order will be dispatched no later than one working day after payment has been received. For detailed information on shipping methods, delivery times, and costs for each destination, please refer to our Shipping & Returns page.

Can I cancel or change an order?

Our fulfillment center processes orders very quickly, so changes or cancellations are usually not possible once an order has been placed. Please contact us immediately at contact@gezeiten.com with your order details - we will do our best, but we cannot guarantee adjustments after processing has begun.

If the order has already shipped, we recommend refusing the delivery. Once the package returns to us, we will issue a full refund (or resend it to the correct address if requested).

During periods of high order volume, cancellations or changes cannot be accommodated. Please note that we are not responsible for address errors or delays once a package has left our facility.

If I'm not happy with my products, can I get a refund?

Yes - if you’re not satisfied with your products, you can return them within the applicable return period for a full refund, provided they are unused, unopened, and in their original packaging.

What happens if I miss the delivery?

UPS will attempt delivery two times. If both attempts are unsuccessful, your parcel will be held at a nearby UPS Access Point for 5–7 days before being returned to us.

You can also register with UPS My Choice to manage your delivery , for example, to change the delivery date, redirect the parcel, or choose an alternative drop-off location.

Please note that if you select an unattended drop-off location, responsibility for the parcel transfers to you once it is delivered.

GEZEITEN uses recyclable, refillable, and eco-friendly packaging. Our primary packaging is made from recyclable materials, and our refill systems significantly reduce waste. We avoid using unnecessary plastics and laminates, making our products more sustainable.

Is GEZEITEN packaging recyclable?

GEZEITEN is dedicated to the future wellbeing of both people and the environments that sustain them. Sustainability is woven into every stage of GEZEITEN's packaging life cycle, from design to disposal.

To minimize environmental impact, we prioritize the use of recycled and recyclable materials, as well as packaging solutions that offer refills and multiple uses where possible.

We carefully select local suppliers to ensure that they align with our high standards of quality and sustainability. Our manufacturing partners have committed to CO2-neutral processes, utilizing green electricity and eco-gas to further reduce our environmental footprint.

Approximately 95% of our secondary packaging is fully recyclable, and we exclusively use FSC-certified paper. Around 85% of our primary packaging is also fully recyclable, ensuring that our packaging choices support a more sustainable future.

How to refill the face cream vessel?

STEP 1
To replace the refill, unscrew the cap slightly for leverage, then gently pull off.

STEP 2
Insert the new refill into the base and slowly rotate until you feel it engage. Then push down firmly until you hear a click.

STEP 3
Screw the cap back on properly.

TIP
For convenience when travelling, take only the refill with the cap and leave the base at home.

Why is the Face Cream packaging The Vessel made of plastic?

When designing The Vessel, we intentionally chose plastic to create a timeless, durable design—far too beautiful to throw away. Plastic is not only shatterproof compared to glass but also lighter, making it more convenient for everyday use.

A key focus during the design process was to ensure that the packaging had a second life and could be reused in a variety of ways. Should you decide not to keep The Vessel, rest assured that it is made from 100% pure material, ensuring full recyclability.
