ABOUT GEZEITEN

GEZEITEN was founded in 2023 by Michaela Hiltebrandt, following three years of research and development. Grounded in science and drawn from nature, the brand brings together skin chronobiology and marine biotechnology. Distinct formulas for day and night. Comprehensive care. A stremlined routine.

The precision of the formula finds expression in sculptural design: the proportions of a vessel, the texture of its surface, the way it rests in the hand. Refillable objects with a quiet presence, considered as part of the spaces we live in.

GEZEITEN means tides. The sea is both a source of scientific discovery and an enduring pull towards the horizon. Its power, depth and stillness shape our visual world. Its rhythm connects marine origins with the skin’s cycle of day and night.

I wanted to create skincare with substance and a distinct point of view. Care defined by scientific depth and tangible results, with a presence that feels at home among the objects we choose to live with.

Formula and design deserve equal consideration. Complex science should translate into comprehensive care, with a daily routine that feels intuitive. Every detail should invite us to reach for it again.

We chose the German name GEZEITEN to reflect our roots and bring together the sea, time and rhythm. The sea evokes memories and longing. The horizon holds the promise of what lies ahead. I wanted to bring that sense of openness and possibility into the often clinical world of skincare. To create something that works on the skin and moves us, too.
